Discovery Days class meetings are held in person at Woodside Village Mobile Park Clubhouse, 12155 Luther Rd, Auburn (behind Best Buy). There is a big room for activities, lots of light, big tables and cushioned chairs, a kitchen, easy access to roll in machine trolleys, plus plenty of parking. Discovery Day Teachers Are Needed for Next Year
We will have firm dates for classes in the last half of the year soon. We are, however, planning monthly classes. If you have a skill you can teach, or an idea for a small project, please contact Melody Peters (Discovery Days Chairperson) or send an email to Discovery@Foothillquilters.org
How to Sign Up for a Class
The primary means of signing up is at the Discovery Table during guild meetings. You will pay the $10 fee at that time to ensure your spot. If the class is full, you will be placed on a waiting list.
In all cases, your payment must be received prior to the class start date. Note: You are only guaranteed a place in the class after your registration and payment are received!

There are three ways to pay for the class(es):
A. In person at a guild meeting -
B. Online via credit card through your GroupWorks account (Foothills Guild Members only).

b. Scroll down and Select “My Account.”
c. Select “Payments.”
d. Select “Make Payment.”
e. Select “Foothill Quilters Guild” and Select “Save.”
f. Enter the total amount for all classes.
g. Enter “Discovery Days” under “What is this for?”
h. Enter the class date(s) under “Notes.”
i. Select “Submit”.
j. You should receive a confirmation online to say that payment was successfully received.
C. With a check: First, let the Discovery Days Chairperson know you are sending a check. Make out a check to “FQG” and mail it to Foothill Quilters Guild, P.O. Box 5653, Auburn CA 95604. Note that it’s for Discovery Day classes, and list the class dates.

August 12 French Braid
Joy Francois will teach a French braid quilt that yields fabulous results, but fabric color selection is key. You can use a 2.5” jelly roll with light to dark colors but be sure it’s not cut with a pinked/zigzag edge. She will teach from the book by Jane Hardy Miller: French Braid Quilts (pg. 20).
Gail Reinke will teach an easy class to make fabric baskets, plus a tool tote for your sewing/quilting tools called Piecekeeper. Both are free patterns available at ByAnnie.com. If you have leftover soft-
September 10 Piecekeeper Bag & Baskets
Store and carry all your project pieces or supplies in this handy zippered bag with attached handles. The main and lining fabric are quilted with foam such as Soft and Stable or Bosal foam making a sturdy base. The mesh front affords great visibility of contents plus a bit of added stretchiness.

Contact Gail Reinke at gail_reinke@hotmail.com if you need a 13” x 18” piece of Soft and Stable. She will sell you a piece at her cost. But if you are planning on making many of these bags, you should consider buying a 18” x 54” piece of Soft and Stable.
